Emit, who planned and curated this show, has been around, painting and switching’ up styles, since the late 80’s. He started off mainly doing illegal art in CT, NY, and DC learning the foundation of graffiti style and history mostly from NY writers. A couple years later, he pioneered the DF crew with fellow artist Sub, and received a tremendous amount of attention, both individually and collaboratively, for his vibrant large-scale works and productions, with his trademark clean, metropolitan b-boy style. In 1995, Emit jumped into Denver’s scene painting with renowned locals from both RTD and SWS crews, and could be found on fr8’s, under bridges as well as on the street, continuing to develop his style. Emit’s love for large scale productions helped motivate Denver’s street art and graffiti scene while creating some of Denver’s most recognized productions along with fellow DF member, Tuke.
In 1999 Emit joined up with ex professional snowboarder and DJ/promoter Steve Blakley to co-found The Firm Graphics. This edgy design firm has been doing work for the entertainment industry for the past 23 years and have garnered international acclaim for their progressive and distinctive design work within the electronic music and entertainment industry, as well as DF crew gaining world-wide recognition for their creative and innovative graffiti styles.

EAST – A native of Illiana (Illinois-Indiana) now residing in Denver, East graduated from the Chicago Academy of Fine & Performing Arts in 1988. This classically trained scholarship recipient and teacher’s apprentice excelled in the arts of Intaglio printmaking and color theory. His love of technical lines and color spilled over into his passion for urban art, and East became a leading influence in the Illinois underground art scene as-well-as the founder of multiple Midwest graffiti styles. With 40 years’ experience, East continues to surge forward — through his consistency and perseverance, he has earned the title “Midwest Master”, continuing to pursue his passion for letters and lettering styles.
KeithJive, l’enfant terrible of underground culture began his graffiti career in rural Connecticut in 1989 at the age of 14. He quickly catapulted into international success with his eclectic, visionary style.
His prolific pieces are found in countless graffiti magazines around the world, national street art festivals and legal walls. His exposure is wide-spread, exhibiting graffiti canvases and paintings in group and solo fine art shows throughout the United States. KeithJive is renowned for his neoteric stylization of letters and vibrant chromatic instincts. He is also recognized as a creative trendsetter, constantly evolving his personal style through the past 3 decades. His occasional use of unconventional materials (mechanical gears, mirrors, and other found objects) are a testament to him as a maverick artist and writer.
Karma Leigh is a Chicana from Colorado who was blessed to grow up between two worlds, the urban life of the city and the natural wonders of the Rockies. Both have inspired her work as an artist and educator. Karma has always had an innate desire for exploration and traveled to many cities in the US landing her in Phoenix for three years. It was there her passion to create, and hone her skills as an artist, were fueled by the many prolific artists she was surrounded by. Karma is a self-taught painter, muralist, curator and creator of jewelry and tangible goods. Her talents are not limited to the paint and palette; she has helped organize successful vendor markets for FemFest, taught for the EPIC Arts program out of Redline Gallery, and was the former Education Coordinator for Museo de las Americas and has been a teacher there for seven years. Karma is also an art teacher with Voz y Corazon, a suicide prevention program in Denver, for five years and will be teaching her own art programs in 2021.
Sandra Fettingis is a muralist and installation artist focused on creating work for the public realm through geometric patterning. Born and raised in Chicago by South American artist parents, Sandra studied at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, earned a BA from Columbia College Chicago, and currently resides in Denver, CO. She has created more than 60 large-scale artworks for public and private collections across the nation. Sandra pushes her practice creatively and professionally by experimenting with new materials, taking on projects outside of Colorado, and pushing the visual language of abstraction through line and geometric minimalism often nodding to our natural world.
