A two person exhibit featuring the work of Gregg Harkenrider and Perle

Opening Reception – Third Friday
March 16, 2018
6 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Bitfactory Gallery is pleased to present a two artist exhibition of new works, Stained and Manipulated. The exhibit will run from March 16, 2018 through April 12, 2018 with an Opening Reception Third Friday, March 16th from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Two artists will be featured in the exhibit. Gregg Harkenrider and Perle. Harkenrider is new to the gallery. This will be his first exhibition with Bitfactory. Harkenrider has shown at other galleries in the area including Artwork Network. Perle is coming off her stellar showing at her first exhibit with Bitfactory in December, Some Assembly Required. Where she exhibited new pieces along with two other artists and being included in the second annual No Show at Bitfactory along with 13 other artists.

Harkenrider works with glass, metal, LED and epoxy to create visually stunning stained glass images of cityscapes from all around the world. Each one being back light with a programmable LED array.   Perle is creating all new works for the exhibit. She digitally manipulates photographs she has taken. She then has them printed on canvas and paints and collages over the images. Creating a very unique mixture of digital and analog art.

Gregg Harkenrider paints with glass, and tends to blend elements together that are normally opposed to each other. His designs encompass elements that require thought and planning. Each piece must reflect light as well as transmit backlighting. He says he’s found that using reflective light as well as transmitted light adds three dimensional elements that make the piece look real.

Perle has learned from local fine artist Ravi Zupa and world renown digital artist Android Jones and has studied art and design for a decade. She looks for inspiration in the natural world, in feelings, in touch, in sound, in emotion, and in sight. She integrates emotions & nature with the technological world into images that evoke something ethereal & otherworldly.

The Stained and Manipulated exhibit will run through April 12, 2018. The artists’ will be present at the Opening Reception Friday, March 16th from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., and by appointment.
