We do not always notice how far we have moved. What once filled the frame becomes one detail among many, or slips beyond its edges. Something ordinary becomes absorbing. A quiet moment feels unexpectedly full. By Degrees considers these subtle movements in attention and significance—the distances we travel while appearing to remain in place. What matters, what moves us, and what we see are continually shifting. Sometimes we become aware of that movement only when we discover how different the view has become.

Bitfactory Gallery invites artists working in all media to submit work for this national juried exhibition. The theme offers a point of departure, with room for ambiguity, discovery, and individual interpretation.

About the Juror
Brayden Espinosa is a working artist and the gallery manager at Bitfactory Gallery & Studios and Block Gallery in Denver.

Entry deadline: December 1, 2026

Artist notification: By December 2, 2026

Artwork delivery: December 14, 2026

Shipped artwork must be received by: December 13, 2026, at 6:00 PM

In-person artwork drop-off: December 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM

Opening Reception: December 18, 2026

Exhibition closing: January 9, 2027

In-person pickup: January 9, 2027, at 3:00 PM

Shipped artwork returns begin: January 19, 2027

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Entries will be accepted only through the CaFE online system.

The entry fee is $25 for three images. Additional images may be submitted for $5 each, up to a maximum of 10 images total.

Provide the following artist information:

– Full name

– Mailing address

– Telephone number

– Email address

For each submitted work, provide:

– Title

– Medium and substrate or materials

– Dimensions in inches, listed as height × width

– Year completed

– Sale price

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Open to artists age 18 and older residing in the United States. All media are welcome.

Artwork must be of original design, personally executed by the submitting artist, and not previously exhibited at Bitfactory Gallery. All work must be available for sale.

Maximum artwork size: 48 inches high × 48 inches wide, excluding framing.

Artists are encouraged to interpret the exhibition theme broadly.

RULES AND TERMS TO APPLY

Entry Fees

All entry fees are non-refundable.

Presentation and Installation

Accepted artwork must arrive ready for installation. Wall-hanging artwork must be wired and ready to hang. Sawtooth, D-loop, and hook-type hangers are not accepted. Work that is not ready for installation upon arrival will not be exhibited.

Commission and Payment

All work must be available for sale. Bitfactory Gallery will retain a 50% commission on sales. Artists will be paid for sales within 31 days of the exhibition closing.

Artwork Delivery and Shipping

Both shipped artwork and in-person delivery will be accepted.

Hand-delivered artwork must be dropped off at Bitfactory Gallery on December 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM Mountain Time.

Shipped artwork must be received by December 13, 2026, at 6:00 PM Mountain Time.

Artists are responsible for insurance and shipping costs both to and from the gallery. Artist’s shipping artwork must provide a prepaid return shipping label.

Artwork Returns and Pickup

Unsold, hand-delivered artwork must be picked up on January 9, 2027, at 3:00 PM.

Any hand-delivered artwork left at Bitfactory Gallery more than two days after the close of the exhibition will be subject to a $10 per day storage fee, payable before the artwork is released. Any hand-delivered artwork left at the gallery for more than two weeks after the close of the exhibition will be considered abandoned and will be subject to sale or disposal without notification.

Return shipping of unsold artwork will begin January 19, 2027. The late-collection provisions above apply to hand-delivered artwork awaiting pickup.

Image Use

Bitfactory Gallery may use images of artwork included in the exhibition for promotional and sales purposes.
