Melis Fusco
Evergreen based artist, Melis Fusco has been creating art since 1994. The evolution of her work has changed over the years, with the influence of her tattooing experience. Melis has been creating tattoo art since 2003, as the years have gone on her art works have become more illustrative. Depending on the medium, the outcome of each piece will be different. Her first love, oil painting, the preferred surface is raw wood. If liquid acrylic, she will use either Aqua Board or watercolor paper. With Acrylics on watercolor paper, the characteristics of tattooing can be seen with line work created by brush pens.
The freedom that painting brings is much different then tattooing to her. Melis’s tattooing career has brought her all over the world, she is an award winning published artist. With tattoo art, she is creating multiple pieces every week, some larger works taking a year to complete, working within the clients requested subject matter. Painting for Melis, is freedom of self expression, subject matter will come and go like visions. Whether from life experience, heart break, or over seas travel, her works will show a variety of feeling. Always interesting, Always evolving.
