I create photographs and make art as a way to practice presence. By immersing myself in the process of taking photos it has allowed me to expand my sense of awareness. I strive to make the ordinary extraordinary and to look at the mundane realities of life with a sense of wonder. Since I make photos and paintings, I tend to create work that is more painterly with soft light and a shallow depth of field. With my most recent series I’ve been exploring the possibilities of photography with a macro lens and took a closer look at the relationship between natural and man-made elements throughout my neighborhood in northwest Denver.
