An evening with sculptor Ira Sherman

Bitfactory Gallery is pleased to announce an evening with sculptor Ira Sherman. Attendees will be treated to an up-close, hands-on demonstration of Sherman’s form-fitting forged steel sculptures and how the intricate pneumatic aspects of each piece function.

Sherman, whose poignant “body armor” sculptures have been featured in museum and runway fashion shows, will also demonstrate metalsmithing techniques including the ancient art of forging steel. Participants will have the rare opportunity to closely examine Sherman’s work, how it functions, and learn how he painstakingly develops each piece to fit the contours of the human body, which he will demonstrate on a live model.
